What Phoenix Family Church Believes
The Bible is God’s Word written by men as they were inspired by God. It is God’s will written down for man to know and understand Him. The Word of God produces abundant life in the individual who continues to hear it. The words in the Bible are alive and powerful. It is the only book on the planet that has foretold the future in many passages in the Old Testament that have come to pass with 100% accuracy. We believe God still speaks through the pages of the Bible to anyone that has ears to hear.
John 6:63, 1 Thessalonians 2:14, 2 Timothy 3:16, Hebrews 4:12
All were born into sin and need a Savior, and those that reject God’s love and gift of Jesus will suffer the consequences of their sin needlessly. We believe salvation and all the promises of God are gained by simply believing the Word and speaking or declaring your faith in what Jesus has obtained through His death, burial, and resurrection. No amount of good works will save anyone. It is by grace, God’s unmerited favor and our faith in what He has done that saves us.
Romans 3:23-24, Romans 10:9-10, Galatians 2:16, Ephesians 2:8-9
By His stripes we are healed. Jesus healed all that came to Him when He walked the earth, and He has not changed. We believe that believers and elders can lay hands on the sick and pray the prayer of faith and people will recover as the scripture promises.
1 Peter 2:24, Acts 10:38, Hebrews 13:8, James 5:14-15, Mark 16:17-18
The Holy Spirit is our Comforter, Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener and Standby. He desires to guide us in all areas of our lives. He also blesses us with spiritual gifts and empowers us to yield to the fruit of the Spirit. As we submit to the Holy Spirit we can be baptized in the Spirit and pray in other tongues as He gives us the utterance. This is one of the greatest gifts God has made available to every believer. This gift gives us the power to be effective witnesses for Christ. This gift also helps us pray for things we do not know what to pray for, like future events, future protection, wisdom, the perfect will of God to manifest in every area of our lives, and so much more!
John 14:26, John 16:13, 1 Corinthians 12:4, Galatians 5:22-23, Acts 1:8, Romans 8:26, 1 Corinthians 14:2
We should set our affections on things above and not on things of this world. The Word of God says not to love money, but we believe poverty is a curse and that Jesus has redeemed us from the curse. The Bible also says that God takes pleasure in the prosperity of His servants and that Jesus became poor so that we, through His poverty, might be rich. In context, the whole chapter is about money. He wants to meet all our needs and bless us so we can be a blessing. So, the conclusion is to seek first the kingdom of God, not money, and money will be added to you so you can influence this world for Jesus. Money makes a horrible god, but a great servant.
Colossians 3:2, 1 Timothy 6:10, Galatians 3:13-14, Psalm 35:27, 2 Corinthians 8:9, Philippians 4:19, Ecclesiastes 9:16
The Bible, and if we continued going on and on about what we believe, we would have to include a copy of the Bible on this website and there are many Bible apps that are available for free in your App Store.
